The Quarterly Required Training (QRT) program is the backbone of organization-wide learning at Children's Hospital Colorado. Each quarter, all employees are given 4-6 courses on various topics crucial for compliance and safety.

Believe it or not, it's possible to create compliance training that holds attention and promotes actual learning. This was my main goal when leading the QRT program at Children's Hospital.
The courses in place for QRT were in need of an overhaul; It was time for new courses to be introduced, and old ones needed to be updated or rebuilt for accurate content and a better learning experience.
One way I did this was by moving away from slides with heavy text and introducing scenario-based learning with relevant interactions.
Leading the QRT program meant ensuring all employees were trained to the high standards of both the world-class hospital and third party inspection entities like Joint Commission and OSHA.
I collaborated with department leaders, subject matter experts, and the learning experience team while designing and developing iterations of each course for the upcoming quarter.
